This week we head over to the Skipton Academy to meet Rob!
Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi ! I’m Rob, 44 from Skipton. I’m married with 4 kids, the eldest about to head off to university. I work in the Insurance industry and Warhammer is my guilty pleasure especially as my football team, Leeds United, bring me only pain and suffering!
Why did you decide to join the Clumsy Orc Academy?
To crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women…. Sorry forgot to use my inside voice! Honestly though Clumsy Orc Academy is a great way to get back into the hobby, to get more games and improve your ability or to test yourself against some really good players in a fun, friendly environment. No hassle just book your session and Sam and the team take care of everything else.
What Armies do you Play/ Collect?
In 40k I focus on those dastardly robot skeleton’s the Necrons! Bow to my might vermin!
In AoS I’m currently painting up my Nighthaunt and also have a developing Ossiarch Bonereapers force on the go. Yes, you’ve spotted a theme– I may have a death fetish!
How did you get into Warhammer?
I got into GW back in the 1980’s with the original BloodBowl (polystyrene pitch anyone?!), Warhammer Fantasy Battle (Dark Elves!) and Space Marine (the original Epic 40k)
Which factions do you like playing against the most?
I find Genestealer Cults really fun to play. Hugely thematic and unique play style that keeps you on your toes
Which armies do you really struggle into?
In 9th I find Imperial Guard very tough as they can ignore the wound cap on my C’tan shards. Deathwing / Raven wing is also a very tough match up!
What’s next on the Painting Table
The Silent King but I’m prevaricating out of fear. I know Sam will read this and suggest I get a commission paint job! 😛
