🎲 New GW Releases – Casual Hobbyist Take
🏴☠️ Red Corsairs – Absolute Space Pirate Energy

I’m just going to say it: the Red Corsairs look chaotically incredible.
These guys feel like what they’ve always been in the lore — not just “Chaos Marines but red,” but full on void-raiding space pirates. Boarding actions, stolen gear, attitude … it’s all there. The models feel scrappy and aggressive, like they’ve been living off raids and bad decisions for centuries.
What I really like is that they don’t lean too hard into daemons or mutations. They feel more grounded and brutal — Marines who turned traitor because they wanted freedom and firepower, not tentacles.
From a gameplay point of view, Im looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table.
Honestly? This might be the most fun Chaos release in a long time.
🌌 Aeldari Corsairs. Prince Yriel and his Fancy Pirates

If the Red Corsairs are mad lads with chainswords, the Aeldari Corsairs are the elegant menace version of space piracy.
They look fast, sharp, and annoyingly perfect — exactly as Aeldari should. The updated Corsairs finally feel like a real bridge between Craftworlders, Drukhari, and Outcasts, and Prince Yriel returning is a huge lore win. The guy has presence, and i dont mean the yu gi oh kind of presence..

On the table, these scream:
- Hit-and-run nonsense
- Tricky positioning
- Punishing mistakes
They’re probably not going to be the most beginner friendly force, but for experienced players who like movement tricks and style points? Chef’s kiss.
Not the loudest reveal, but definitely a classy one.
🛡️ Legio Custodes – Golden Glory

Okay, let’s talk Custodes, because this is a big deal.
Yes, these were revealed under the Horus Heresy banner — but make no mistake, these are absolutely coming straight into Warhammer 40,000. And that’s fantastic news.
The new models look BIG and that’s great for the range:
- More infantry variety
- Actual tanks (and not just “lump of resin”)
- Dreadnoughts that look terrifying instead of just expensive
This feels like GW saying: “Yeah, Custodes should actually feel like the Emperor’s finest again.”
🧠 Final Hobby Thoughts
If I had to sum it all up casually:
- Custodes – Biggest long term win, especially for 40K players
- Red Corsairs – Most fun, most personality, biggest vibe shift
- Aeldari Corsairs – Stylish, lore rich, and a personal favourite
Overall? This preview felt like a strong one. Yes refresh, but one that kind of needed it.
Now excuse me while I stare at Custodes tanks and pretend I don’t already have too many projects 😅
